Maritime Security Conference 2011

The first Combined Maritime Security Conference was held in Kiel, Germany at the Sparkassen Conference Centre from 2 to 5 May 2011 and was executed with close cooperation of the Centre of Excellence for Operations in Confined and Shallow Waters (COE CSW) and Combined Joint Operations from the Sea Centre of Excellence (CJOS COE).  The theme of the conference was  "Delivering Maritime Security in Global Partnership: Creating a Strategic Framework for Maritime Security Cooperation"

The participants  examined how international organizations and emerging regional maritime security cooperatives can collaborate more efficiently to form an enhanced network for maritime security cooperation. The overarching aim was to examine how International Organizations and the emerging Regional Maritime Security Organizations can collaborate together to form a Global Network for Maritime Security Cooperation.

Whenever possible the briefs and other material presented at the conference are provided here.  There is also new material that has been provided by some of the speakers post conference on the MSC 2011 Proccedings page, as well as the Conference Analysis and Way Ahead paper  that provides general conclusions and recommendations for improving issues within the maritime domain and identifies some long and short term goals.

The intent of this his web page summarizes the events of the conference, providing those that attended the conference the opportunity to review or share information presented at the conference.  Hopefully, it will also entice those that did not attend this conference to join us at the  2012 Maritime Security Conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia from 4 to 7 June.
