Maritime Significance in Urbanisation

Shrivenham, United Kingdom

The COE CSW supports the NATO Urbanisation Project development since its initiation two years ago and participated at all related events so far. A study paper has been drafted in collaboration with CJOS COE that contributed to the "NATO Urbanisation Conceptual Study" and supported the 1st Urbanisation Experiment execution in Rome last September. In the meantime the significance of the maritime domain in joint urban operations has become obvious to all involved in the project.

In acknowledging the COE CSW tangible contributions and specific competence, Headquarters Supreme Allied Command Transformation requested our support for a War-game that aims at validating the findings collected up to now. During the Final Planning Conference for the Urbanisation War-game from 11 till 14 JUL 2016 in Shrivenham, GBR, the COE CSW contributed to the scenario and vignettes development. The execution is scheduled this September at the NATO Defence College in Rome and – of course – will be also supported by us in providing experts as maritime planners and consultants.
