On 18th July 2019 the Deputy Commander of the Headquarters Allied Maritime Command (MARCOM) signed the Live Virtual Constructive – Training (LVC-T) Concept, which marks an important step towards enhanced future training for NATO maritime forces.
The concept builds on technical solutions and standards for LVC-T which are already commonly available. This will create training options that are open for general use and by far less cost intensive than live training. In particular, this LVC-T Concept paves the way to improve the training and force cohesion of all NATO maritime forces, with a particular focus on the Standing NATO Maritime Groups.
COE CSW, together with a specialist team from the NATO Modelling and Simulation Group, continues to support MARCOM by developing an Implementation Paper that describes the way ahead for LVC-T in the maritime domain.
