The Centre of Excellence for Operations in Confined and Shallow Waters (COE CSW) is proud to announce the Search and Rescue/Assistance at Sea Legal Workshop to be held in Washington D.C. and Annapolis, Maryland, USA from the 6th to the 10th of April 2015. See link here.
The COE CSW, in cooperation with U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Global Maritime Operational Threat Response Coordination Center (GMCC), wish to provide a forum for the discussion of legal issues surrounding Rescue and Assistance at sea. It is our hope that through the sharing of legal thought and exploration of national viewpoints and definitions we will find solutions, recommendations, and best practices. These findings will lead the way for standardization in the international community and, in the long term, save lives.
Always searching for ways to enhance NATO Transformation and expand legal understanding and cooperation we are excited about this new opportunity to continue our efforts. Please join us in Annapolis for in-depth and challenging discussions as well as academic and professional growth.
In an effort to never waste an opportunity the COE CSW will also be hosting an optional Practical Educational Tour following the Workshop.
We will visit Navy Pentagon, NATO SACT, Norfolk Naval Base, the Center for Law and Military Operations (CLAMO), and the U.S. JAG School in Charlottesville, Virginia. Please extend your stay with us for a rare educational opportunity from the 12th to the 16th of April 2015.
