Hosted by the German Navy and organized by COE CSW, the Naval Service Task Group (NASTG), a subgroup to the NATO Training Group (NTG), convened in Kiel from 14 to 17 March 2016 to discuss ways to  close gaps in Education & Training (E&T) and to exchange best practices with regard to naval E&T issues.

This year’s meeting focused on Live Virtual Constructive Training as one means to overcome challenges in preparing naval forces such as the NATO’s maritime readiness groups. Although some nations have already implemented synthetic training for individual units up to larger Task Groups, the Alliance has not been aiming at common approach so far. The COE CSW supports this endeavour by drafting of a NATO concept for distributed synthetic training.
